Re: Remington Cutlery coming to Arkansas
The press release came from Lonoke, which I think is now the headquarters for Remington’s ammunition production arm. I hope you’re right.
However I read through that press release several times and see nothing indicating any cutlery will be made in Lonoke. Setting up and bringing on line a cutlery factory is no small feat. Reading between the lines, I’d expect to see a continuation, probably on a larger scale, of the imported cutlery that has been produced under the Remington brand for several years. And the “made in U.S.A. Bullet knife”, hopefully from GEC Iike the recent one. I noted that was the only made in U.S.A. item mentioned.

Guessing aside from the GEC-made Bullet line, they'll mostly be made in China. A few smaller local stores used to carry a Chinese-made Remington range, while I found the USA-made ones (back when Bear and Son had the license) only at a local cutlery store and online.

Yeah I strongly suspect more of an assembly operation with Chinese parts….would be neat if they reach out to some of the knife related forums like AAPKas part of their communication plan…
Re: Remington Cutlery coming to Arkansas
I thought I'd update this thread, as this popped up while looking at some older Remington fixed blades.
Chinese-made, carbon steel. I suspect whoever owns Roper is the company making these. This looks just like one of theirs.
