Unusual REMINGTON MUSKET DADDY BARLOW
Has anyone seen a Remington knife like this one? There is no tang stamp, any info would be helpful

Cobbled knife - looks like someone has replaced the original blade. Fairly recent knife - within the past 30 years I believe. There are several of the original, unaltered versions for sale on eBay.

While technically I should compare their shields first, I am ready to bet 5 cents that that Barlow left the Camillus factory looking exactly like my Remington Musket Daddy Barlow. The deep stamped trade name in the bolster is a give away. Camillus made those Barlows for Buck, Remington, probably other wholesale buyers and branded them with their own name. They can be found with both of Camillus' standard blade steels, 1095 carbon and 440A stainless. The conspicuous blade pivot pin suggests that was disassembled. A previous owner cut the slot through the area where its nail nick was or the blade was replaced. However, it might have lost its tang stamp to heavy polishing.
In like new in box condition your Remington is about a $30 to $35 knife through eBay auctions.
