Hi

I am new to AAPK, I am trying to identify the knife shown below. There are no numbers on the backside of the main blade that I can see. The Solid looking backspring is intersting. Help Thanks

Looks like an R100
Also known as the "standard dollar knife"

Welcome to AAPK.

Your knife has what's called enclosed, or covered, backsprings. The normal backsprings are there, they're just covered by the metal plate. Knife looks like possibly an R100. Someone that's a real Remington expert will probably be along soon to confirm or refute my guess. Nice knife!

Ken

Edit: Keith was responding at the same time - beat me to it. He is a Remington guy, so go with what he said.

Here is a picture of the box they came in and this knife still has the etch on the blade.

Seems like Remington also made a R100B with a punch blade.

Here is my example of the R100 with the punch and our favorite Acorn shield. Take care.

Interesting knife to me. Here is a R105A, not a covered back spring and a pen blade. A R105B, covered back spring with a punch. The R100A with a pen blade came with covered and uncovered back springs. I believe the R100B also came with and without covered back springs.

Your R105 is configured just like mine with the onyx scales. Yeah the acorn shield is very interesting and definitely never messed with. You can tell when a shield has been added or changed. Mine came out of the Paul Davis collection. Paul passed away several years ago but was considered one of the foremost Remington experts.

I don't know what is going on with my posts - but I was saying the 6655 doesn't seem correct ???
