Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Hi there, I am new to the forum. I have a split pearl handled Remington knife with a number of R7414. I haven't seen any other Remington knife online with this number. It looks to have been manufactured in the 1924 - 1933 by the stamp on the tang. Does anyone have any info on this knife? Thanks!

Welcome my friend to the Remington thread and to AAPK the best all around knife forum on the net!
There is plenty to say related to the Remington model number R7414...but I think it important to see a few different angled pictures of your knife which would include the tang and pattern number stamped on your knife. This is vital in part, in makeing sure we are sharing info about the right patterned knife and correct era production. I look forward to your pictures and replay. Mike, great scout fixed blades. I have very little knowledge of the fixed blades but I do know that it is hard to find a couple of NEW 90 something year old knives. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on ownership. Take care, John
