Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Maybe a real locksmith could fix you up? I have seen many of those style keys at antique shows but not sure how you could match one up? That is a fine case and display of knives you have there! Nice that you share with the rest of us!

Thanks Remunc. I do plan to take it to our locksmith and hopefully have it opened and obtain a key to use for the future. Love to see your knives as well and appreciate your knowledge and feedback.

Here's another original Remington counter top display case. This is untouched with the exception of the knives I put in her!

Just a couple more for today...how 'bout some pruners? Top and bottom have visible etch but doesn't show well in the pics.

What the heck Rocky. I haven't seen very many of the knives in your case. And the pruners!! Very nice. That case is one of my favorites that Remington made.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
LOL...here's a sample of a few more...
The packages are full of Remington posters, Calendars and Remington advertising of one sort or another. The bigger cabinet has a diverse collection of antique/ vintage cutlery that most of the big cutlery companies folks collect. Yea...I know I have issues...

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Want to get an old Remington floor display cabinet but the misses tells me "I got enough stuff in that junk room!" LOL...she is sweet to put up with several "man cave" rooms that I have. The kids are grown and have their own homes so we have plenty of space...I guess it's good that she put a bridle and blinders on this stubborn mule or I might get out of hand!

Thanks Mike...would love to see some of your collection. Hadn't seen a "look see" from you in quite a spell.
Thanks again Keith I appreciate that...what ever happened with that amazing Remington cutlery advertising neon light? Did you score it?

The guy is killing me. He has 4 items that will be the last to sell. A Remington camp fire knife with a full etch, mop boy scout knife, the neon sigh, ant the fix blade display with correct knives.

Buy it all Keith! All are hard to find in the condition I've seen you show. Don't let it slip through your fingers... throw an old dog a Bone as a last resort if ya have to. Lol one can never have too much Remington caboodle in their collection!

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
I upgraded a knife as of late. An R655. The one I had is the bottom knife. Top is the new nife. And it's a salesman sample. $10.80 marked on the back side. I went for the longest time and had never seen a Remington salesman sample and now I've picked up 4 in the last few months.

Keith, your R655 is spectacular! The blade etch is very well preserved.
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Thanks Jerry. You have been a little quiet in the Remington forum. Sure would like to see more of your knives.

Keith, here is a H-T-T trapper that was sold along with subscriptions to the Hunter Trader Trapper magazine. I superimposed the H-T-T trapper and it's big brother R293B onto a page from a circa 1930's advertising page from the magazine.espn77 wrote:Thanks Jerry. The H-T-T Trapper was made with a blade etch that says "H-T-T Trappers Knife". The etch on my knife if faint. Once upon a time, I saw a very good example with a more readable etch that got away from me . There is a picture below that highlights the etching. The contrast in this photo has been boosted significantly to highlight the etch.
The picture with the magazine ad in the background is really large so it will be slow to download if you click on the small preview image.
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Both your knives are extremely nice. Pretty cool it still has the etch

I can finally stake a claim, no matter how small, to being a Remington knife collector with this Baby Ruth R1823 serpentine jack.
Everything's better with a Barlow

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Tony, it's good to see another Remington collector. Nice example to kick off with!
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Rocky have you considered employing a locksmith to help get that case open ? I suspect he might be able to make you a key.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
I think this is another Hunter Trader Trapper HTT Remington bulldog? Handles are good and it has a faint Remington Trade Mark etch. No pattern number. Has the black composite handle spacer at the small end. Has seen a fair amount of use and the snap is week.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Remumc. Nice HTT Bulldog! It's one of those patterns where the name matches to the feel of the knife ~ very stout. Seems like they are difficult to find in any condition.
Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Remumc, your bulldog is really nice. Thanks for showing it off. I don't see them very often and have wanted one for a long time. I have only seen pictures of one other one than the ones you and Jerry have shown.
A while back I posted a picture of a display case I bought that was full of knives that matched the buttons. I had never opened the back till Rocky asked about A key for his. When I opened it i was pleasantly surprised.
This display case was shipped from Burials & black, Inc wholesale hardware out of Syracuse N.Y.
