John Wayne Commemorative

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

John Wayne Commemorative

Post by dlr110 »

Here is what I worked on today.
I finally got my John Wayne Commemorative CASE Trapper, chestnut bone handle, Year 1999, and mounted it on the woodburning I did a while back.

David, very nice John Wayne Commemorative plaque, your knife looks good on it. This is the first time I have seen a red JW Case. I have a 54 Trapper I bought from a pawnshop years ago with yellow Delrin handles and new grind blades. It came in a larger flip-top pasteboard box, 1984 IIRC. I wonder how many variations of John Wayne Case Knives there are? Yours looks very nice - great likeness via wood burning too. OH

Thank you Sir, I appreciate your comments. I've got some other JW's, Clint Eastwood and more on the Woodburning thread.

Very nice display! ::tu::
I have several of my knives on displays where I can see them.
Better than having them hid away in a knife roll or a safe.

That’s a great job in the wood burning! I’m a huge John Wayne fan myself.

I was hoping this thread would become a place to see some of the many John Wayne Case Knives from over the years. This is my 1984 New-Grind 3254. OH

Well go to my website and see the other two JW's that I've done. Maybe we can work something out.

There is no reason it can't, just keep posting them.

BTW thanks everyone for your comments, much appreciated.... :D

Here’s what the wood burning I received from David Richards now looks like…

I put .45colt spent shells at the bottom (drilled holes then glued in) to hold my folding hunter John Wayne commemorative

Next I’ll put a light clear coat of polyurethane on the piece and then hang it up!

Thanks David… cool wood burning piece
