vintage CASE RONSON LIGHTER

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

vintage CASE RONSON LIGHTER

Can anyone shed any light on this Ronson lighter? I sure recognize the long tail C logo but not the person.

Looks like Buffalo Bill Cody. I don't know why he would be on the same piece of paper with the Case logo.

Thanks for responding. That's exactly who I thought it looked like. I bought it a few years ago at a flea market for $5.00 and have never been able to find anything on it.

I agree, Buffalo Bill Cody was what came to mind when I saw the picture. The Case logo looks modern (within the past 20-30 years or newer) to me. ::shrug:: Zippo now owns both Ronson and Case, and is still producing Ronson lighters I believe. So you might email Case consumer-relations@wrcase.com and ask them about your lighter.

I have my doubts that this came from Case (or Ronson or Zippo). I hope for the OP's sake it is, but it looks made up to me. The Case advertising looks much newer than 1953 to me.

To me it looks like a regular old long tail C logo. It could have been made up for sure. I don't know why though.

I've got to agree with Gunsil, I went back and looked at a book that shows the newer logos and it definitely looks more like a newer logo. Good catch on that.

After closer inspection the c is the only part of the logo that resembles the newer logos
