Gifts can be deceiving, Floyd...That may not have been a gift so much as a "Trojan Mini Trapper" or perhaps a Mini Trapper lure designed to seduce you into the Mini Trapper Tribe until the Mini Trapper meat hooks have been firmly set and you can be slowly reeled in. Before you know it, you find yourself scooped up in a Mini Trapper gill net, thrashing about helplessly, drowning in a flood of Mini Trappers, powerless to resist.
Either that or it was just a gift.

Yeah, me too Floyd.
The latest addition to the obsession. I wish they had swapped the handles front to back but it will be fine like it is. I think I'm going to make this my last Corelon. Way too many different colors and patterns.

Today's addition to the growing pile of 07s. 2018, came in a tin, barn board jigged handles and torched I think. I got it because of the shield. It may be intended to be a rendition of the flag but it looks like a belt buckle to me.

I'll admit that I've purchased knives for lesser reasons than the shield, not much less, mind you, but somewhat less, nevertheless.
But, belt buckle/stylized American flag shield notwithstanding, that's still a good looking 07. Gotta love those Barn Board covers; torched or not, what could be more "American" than a knife with handles made in the style of lumber salvaged from an old barn?

I guess that with these two latest 07 pick ups I have officially embarked upon the slippery slope of synthetic handles (other than the Delrin and G-10 Carhartts, of course). Must admit they sure are pretty; but, I think they'll be my last...I'm just too much of a nature boy. For me, knife handles must be bone, stag or ivory.

You picked a couple of lookers to facilitate your fall from self proclaimed grace. Good Picks.
I just noticed I didn't post my latest in this thread. This one is very satisfying. I like it a lot.

John, I hope you don't mind if I 'massage' that picture some. That bone is just too beautiful to hide in a dark corner.

I like the mark side bone on this one...
- 1984 Case 6207 SS
The pile side...um...well, not quite as nice. (This is an example of what I would call "mismatched").
I wonder what they were thinking when they chose the handles for this knife?

I've developed the opinion that Case has the attitude "We're Case. The knife buying community will buy whatever we put out the door". They make a lot of knives and throughput is an issue in their manufacturing process, sooo they are not very selective with their handles. They slap on whatever they grab and if a slab is too thick, they don't take the time and effort to grind it down from the back, they just haft it and take off enough to make it fit. If the hafting process goes through the jigging and color layer, so be it and you get what you have on the mark side of that knife and thusly what you consider a 'mismatch'. They are terribly bad about that with their stag. I think Case stag is so heavily hafted, it's pathetic. That stag 'look' is almost gone by the time they finish it. JMHO

I was at the Easton, PA knife show this morning & found this one - I've never seen this color pattern in a 6107W - really nice snap too.

You scored big time on that one, John...VERY cool.
Yet another one I've never seen before and another one to add to my must-have list.

I've been seeing something on that order listed lately. They're simply calling it 'gray'. I've been tempted but I really need to slow down. So far I've been able to stay strong.
Is this an experiment John, a budding addiction or are you adding to an existing addiction?

John, wouldn't you rather have something like one of these mint green, lime green or lemon-lime 6207Ws instead of that dull gray 6107W? I know how much you like bright, vibrant colors. Let me know if you ever want to swap.

Jerry - working in the peoples republic of New Jersey, I have a thing for single blade thin profile knives that don't print much that I can carry for work - the 6107W's probably get the most carry of all my mon-fri knives ...

That's a fine gathering of 107W's. I'm torn on the 107s. On the one hand, I'm not overly fond of single blade traditionals. On the other, the 107s are rich with Wharncliffe blades and I'm overly fond of those so that kind of cancels out the single blade prejudice.

Today's addition. It's not a Case but it is a Mini-Trapper and a fine one at that. Positive half-stops and decisive, loud snap. F&F is excellent. I'm impressed.
