Ode To The 07

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Muchas Gracias, Smitty, John and jerryd. :D :D :D

A bit of 07 trivia: I had previously thought that the Blue 207WHSS (plain edge Wharncliffe) was the only 1st Issue 07 model that was graced with a serial number. Then, I discovered (and bought) a Yellow 207WHSS 1st Issue that has a serial number (see photos above). Recently, on eBay, I discovered this Greenbone 207WHSS that also has a serial number (I didn't buy it because I already have one).

I'm showing it here for the benefit of future 07 collectors and to add to the database of 07 history. ::nod::

Getting harder and harder to find 07s with decent stag it seems...well, maybe not harder to find, just harder to afford since everyone and their cousin seems to want stag and are apparently willing to pay beaucoup bucks for it...and rightly so...I know I am whenever I can find stag I really like...such as is on this Red Stag R5207 Mini-T from 2008.

Thanks, guys. Appreciate the comments. ::handshake::

For my next number, I present this 2014 Paua Abalone 8207 that I won quite by accident (put in a bid that I thought for sure would get quickly outbid...but, amazingly, it didn't and I ended up winning). Of course, that NEVER happens with a knife I really really want. ::disgust::
I already have an 8207 Abalone Mini-T so The Monkey was just bored and bidding for ships & giggles (hey, sometimes you've got to create your own entertainment however you can!)...and now I have two!

Hey, if you see something you like, just let me know...I will always give my AAPK brothers a good deal and, honestly, I'd much rather sell to AAPK members in order to keep my knives in "the family." :D

FWIW--I'm not looking to make a profit off any of these 07s, in fact, I don't really even mind taking a loss (truth be told, I expect to lose some amount of money whenever I sell knives...it's much less stressful that way), mostly I just need to clear out some storage space for The Monkey's latest obsession. ::nod::

I'm not sure if it's considered "pocketworn" or just regular red jigged bone, but that one is from the 1989 Centennial Set. (Maybe it just needs your nice warm pocket to ride around in for awhile to get that pocketworn look, WillyC. ::hmm:: )

Some of you who follow this thread may remember that I had collected three different versions of the 2010 Historian's Tour Bermuda Green Smooth Bone 6107W. I don't know how many different versions were made in total, but I knew there was at least one more that I didn't have because I'd seen it on eBay. Unfortunately, I felt the seller was asking way too much for it, and I watched sadly as someone else eventually bought it. :(
The Monkey was distraught and inconsolable. ::teary_eyes:: ::tear::

Fast forward a couple months to yesterday. My buddy dropped by and totally surprised me with this BOMB, the fourth version I had been wanting. ::woot:: Apparently, I had mentioned to him that I wanted it but just couldn't bring myself to pay the high asking price, so he went ahead and bought it for me. Wow...what a super surprise...and what a great friend. Mini-T Monkey is seriously over the moon and doing somersaults and backflips of pure joy. ::ds:: Unbelievable...I'm still in shock. :D
