Stagmania

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Squatch, I think your Case Sodbuster is outstanding. The most beautiful of that pattern I have ever seen.

Here is some stag from the XX era. I believe it would be from the early XX era, but would like an experts opinion. My other XX era stag looks more like the stag of 65-69.

I'm no expert but I can tell you that the older stag is far superior to the newer stuff.

Here's some of the newer stuff...

I previously posted this box of Case xx stag. I really expected some comments. I was thinking that they are from the earlier of the XX stags. I am trying again, hoping for at least an attaboy. ::nod::

Although I have only a few Cases, I appreciate your collection. most notably the aged appearance of the knives gives them a rich looking character. ::handshake::

I saw the earlier post but didn’t comment. Thought you wanted confirmation about “earlier stag” which I don’t think is something I’m able to comment about. “Earlier” than Sambar stag, yes. But that covers a lot of territory. ::hmm::

So I’ll just say “nice stags”.

TJ, your collection of older Case stag is indeed enviable. As, what I consider, really good stag becomes more and more unavailable (for a plethora of reasons) the older stag handled knives become more and more desirable. It's the nature of the beast that collectors desire acknowledgement from fellow collectors, I must plead guilty to that myself, so here's a great big ATTA-BOY! ::super_happy:: Keep collecting and keep posting, I, for one, will continue to drool over you photos. ::tu::

Loving all the gorgeous stag being shown here. Stag is one of my top two favorite handle materials (along with Ivory, of course).

Here's my most recent stag acquisition:
