Starting Over

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I have just read this post for the first time. I am typically a lurker and not a poster, but after seeing this I just had to comment. What a GREAT set of old greenbones. I am sure that you have had to look long and hard to do this in a very short amount of time. I for one am jealous of a great collection of these knives not to mention the short amount of time you have done this in.
There is one thing that I would like to know. What is it that you do for a living? And if you are retired, what did you do for a living?
thanks

Larry I'd love to see you display your greenbone collection at a show some time.

I don't think I'd be the only one who'd love to see them.

Larry I don't know whether that 47J or the congress whittler is the most rare, but they're both beauties!

Larry, super nice additions. ::tu:: ::tu::

Didn't you have a green bone Case Tested XX 6247J before you started over? :D If I am remembering correctly, the bone is lighter on your new one is lighter and prettier - looks like an upgrade.

Thanks Ken, I think the 63052 is the rarest, I seen a few of the 6247J but these are stamp on both blades.

Jerry, you're right, I do have another 6247J and don't know which I like the most ::tu::

Beautiful! Just realized those two could almost be a Moose, kinda' like a 6275. Those long spears ain't too far off the shape of a spey. ::hmm:: Greenbone is some pretty stuff and sadly way out of my league in this mint condition. It's apparent Larry doesn't half step when it comes to Case knives. ::tu::

I have just seen this thread for the first time. I am not a Case collector so the relative rarity is lost on me. However these amazing knives have upped my standard for what a truly mint knife is. Wow !

I'm not a case scholar but I've never seen a 76 till now. Was it only made in the tested era?
