Do YOU have a CASE XX knife in YOUR pocket today?????

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Nice knife, Josh. I've got a peanut with that color on one side.

Here's my contribution. Case 6244.

I usually have this XX era 6235 1/2 in my pocket on most days. I don't really switch it up too much. Nice knives Josh and Joe.

This 63032 CV is in my watch pocket every day. If I have my pants on then this is on me.

I think it was made in 2007 but Case College has the tang stamp having a lightening S but mine is a regular S so I'm not 100% sure on age but 2007 seem about right for when I bought this one.

I'm certainly no expert, especially on newer Case, but I believe I read somewhere that the Lightning S denotes stainless blades and the standard S is on CV bladed knives only. Maybe someone of the real experts can verify.

I thought the lightning S was 1980 and earlier.

No expert here either but I know this...

Ken and Joe are correct. Joe with one slight variation (not "earlier" to my knowledge but I could be wrong). In 1980s', 1980 to 1989', CASE still used dot system like the 1970s' but moved the dots above the USA instead of below like the 70s'. Additionally, all years in the 80's had a lightning S in the words CASE and USA regardless of steel used.
In the mid 90s' (maybe 93' to 95'), CASE started using the lightning S in the words CASE and USA to indicate SS blades. So one in that time frame and later (not sure till when or if they still do it) will have the rounded S if it is a CV bladed knife.
Like Ken, don't know squat about newer CASE knives but JW's knife appears to follow the same standard as I mentioned for a CV knife and the type of S used.

There maybe some exceptions to what I said but that was the norm as far as I know.

This little 3 3/8" 6202 1/2 jack, roughly the same age as me (USA baby!), goes to work with me every day in one of Frosty's black velvet bags.

What the heck kind of question is that Josh? Just kidding.

Everyday my friend, everyday is the answer.

Great knives all. Really great knives! I am partial to some of the Jacks posted due to that being my favorite to carry but all are FINE!

Heading out early tomorrow to scout game so I will post my carries early.

XX Worm Groove 6265 and XX USA 6292 and pistola.

On a side note, I do love the desert but it does add another layer of EDC maintenance, guns or knives, even when I carry around the house. A lot of dirt is around but also a lot of real fine powder silty sand. When I just pulled the pictured 92 out, I could hear that silt grind even though I oil joints every time I pull one to carry. Not the noise you want when opening the blade. Douse liberally with 3 in 1 oil at half open both blades and some compressed air computer keyboard cleaner with red straw and it is all fixed.

Nice, gard! You rounding up saw logs or firewood? My dad starts cutting firewood this month, we basically heat the farm house with 2 woodburners exclusively.

Nice Case Scout knife Dogg, I've been carrying a Case 6347 since Friday - great general purpose EDC. OH

Went to Sunday brunch today. This is one of my newest additions.

Have had it for about 7 days. If I am bringing fruit to work, I bring

one of my longer blade ones. If I am wearing scrubs, I tend to bring

one of the heavier one ( afraid of loosing the light weight ones in the

shallow pockets) . Sometimes one just pops out and says carry me today !

Use both of these, the regular Barlow is EDC and the Grand Daddy is used for yard work a lot.
