Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Jerry those 2 35's are gorgeous. I see what you are saying about the nicks in each knife. The only other thing I noticed was the 6235 didn't have a shield but my understanding was they shipped with and without shields. Don't know if it was random or by some design.

Real pretty red bone on those two. ::tu::

Hey Steve, you are correct . And thanks for the compliments.

The 35 was sometime made without shield. Out of stock when put together, lower price production and same to consumers, on purpose, etc. whom knows.

Here is a XX green bone 35 I think I have never posted previous . Matched up with my new pickups.

Interesting comparison again.

Both the knives with shield have a closed C shield. Used in TESTED and early XX.

Lots of thoughts on these example comparisons.

Thanks my friend.

Has an even smaller nail nick, closed C shield and model number. Adds to to the intrigue of the comparison for me.

I would have expected both closed C knives to both not have a pattern number?

Yep, me too. One of many attributes that are interesting to me.

Picked up a 63033 Small Stockman dated 1984. A little used, but a new carry for me. I've always liked a small carry knife, just like the Tiny Toothpick in my avatar...

Is the #33 at 2-5/8" your sweet spot? Do you stray very far from that size?

Keith that's it in the 79 set only six knives but the 5249, 5292, 5207 and 5275 are some of my favorite patterns!

Nice little Stockman David. The 33 is a great little pattern. Congrats. I too like a small watch pocket carry. Usually with a bigger carry though also personally.

I like a small knife to carry in my pocket. This is my first Small Stockman (probably not my last). I also have my red bone pocket worn 3" tiny toothpick (I have about a dozen more tiny toothpicks too shiny to carry... I guess that's my sweet spot) and a non-Case (I keep this one for sentimental reasons - my father had it for many years) at about 2-3/4".

As much as I love ivory, I really can't afford to pay $305 for a Mini Trapper (like the one that just sold on eBay today); so, this imitation ivory Mini Copperhead will have to do.

Picked up this Case Tested barlow, well used but not abused, lot of blade left. Sharpened this one up and put it in my pocket.

That's a dandy John! ::tu:: I just wonder how that little workhorse made it through all these years without more use. That's a great find!
