Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Somehow I neglected to log this in whenever I first received it. Was not aware that I had it until I discovered it last night. I like the bone on this Stockman.

Thanks John. Obviously an anniversary knife. But I still have absolutely no recollection of when I got it.

Garry, I agree with John. That's one cool motor scooter.

Todays mail brought this Mini-Trapper.

I just assumed the CCC on the bolster stood for Case Collector's Club. Am I wrong.
I bought it because it's different and it has a Wharncliffe blade.

This was on the back of the tin sleeve.

That's definitely a mystery you got there, jerryd. I'm fairly certain it's not a 2011 Case Collectors Club release, but the CCC on the bolster certainly is baffling as the CCC marking usually designates a Collectors Club knife.

Based on the ad copy on the sleeve, I'm going out on a limb and suggesting that maybe it was intended to signify "Case Consumer Communities" since it's clearly a Case Tour knife. The number 30 following the CCC on the bolster could refer to the total number of communities visited / dealers' site stops made on the tour. But, that's just a wild guess because I can't think of anything that makes any more sense.

Might be time to call Case and ask for some clarification.

Finally finished up this quad set of chestnut stockmen with the find from knifeaholic's store of the 2 medium of current producton. The large is 1of 500 MM shield. The small is 1 of less than 400, it is the 6333R, a standard shield and bail with XX scroll work on bolsters. Dont usually go for the limited stuff because of the in your face of "NOT ment to be carried" banners and such on the blades but these are tastefully done without any banners and barely noticable number ingravings on blades. Just think only 18 years to put these together. Thats twice as much effort than i got out of my wives but a whole lot less errr... ahhh..."chirpping" in the back ground. ::tease::

I don't know what was going on with this knife. I got to the gunshow when the doors opened, and at the third table in, this guy had a bunch of knives in a ziplock bag. I asked if I could look them over and noticed this Moose. I took it out and looked at it and asked him how much. He quoted a price and we went back and forth and I got it for $20. On the way home I got to thinking there must be something wrong with it, but I can't find anything. He said the most valuable knife in that bag was an Imperial fishing knife! LOL

Olde Cutler,
That Moose is mighty fine! Our old saying is similar, “Even a blind hog finds an acorn now and then.”
