Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I went way overboard. Also got a Citizen watch and a gold 2 1/2 pesos. The prices were right!

I just picked up a Hunter in carbon fiber from Shepherd Hills, they're running a half-price deal.

6254 Trapper. I think this is natural bone.
Wife saw this and wanted it for her baby brother, who works with her at ALDOT.
He won't see it until his b-day in November .....

Today I received this 2015 Copperlock in smooth bone. It functions great, but it has certainly been rode hard in only a few years. I'm not sure what the heck the guy did to the blade - there are tons of crosswise scratches on both sides of the blade along the entire length. I bought this knife for 3 reasons: 1) I did not have an example of the Case Copperlock pattern, 2) Because of the condition, I think I got it cheap, 3) I want to see if I can restore the blade. Should be easy, right? According to youtube, all I should need is a pile of wet-dry sandpaper in progressive grits and some patience and effort. Those last two are not my strong suits, so we'll see how it goes...

Scott, you sleeveboard is a nice find. Is the length closer to 3 1/4” or 3 5/8” ? Pattern 62079 1/2 is 3 1/4 and 6276 1/2 is 3 5/8.
