Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

My new Case Tribal Lock with smooth antique bone arrived today. It has a heftier feel than I was expecting, but still very thin. It opens and closes smoothly and locks up tight with no blade play.

I took pictures along side a large Case Copperlock for comparison. The Copperlock feels significantly lighter and smaller in the hand than the tribal lock. I intend to carry this one.

Picked up another 63090 med stockman. This one has the "as ground" blades with the visible tool marks - does this type of grind have a proper name ? I'd like to know that so I can do a targeted search on eBay for them - I really like the texture of this grind compared to the usual polished stainless mirror look. Thx

That is exactly how Case names them ... ... "as ground".

I picked up this tested Winterbottom Trapper recently. I think it may have once belonged to one of the AAPK legends. I was glad to get it.

Thanks for looking! ::tu::
