Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

My latest Case pick up is this 2007 TBT Red 6207W Wharncliffe Mini Trapper.

Does anyone know what "TBT" stands for?

Larry that's not allowed. You just can't go from green bone to ten dots. ::poke::

Nice find! I have a USA era (65-69) that I carry to work every day. For office work she gets the job done. I keep it in a Frost Family velvet bag so as not to scare the natives. ::super_happy::

Today I received this pretty much minty 53087 from 1971. Nice little stockman, worth the $50 I think.

The stag is not spectacular and is fat (which I'm not really a fan of) but the width makes the knife quite comfortable to hold in a sideways grip.

Checking out this '65-65 Case 62024 1/2 bare head that just came. What immediately jumped out was how off square the bare head end is. When sitting on a flat surface on the springs with blades up it leans hard to one side. Not even close. Mark side bone scale is significantly wider/larger/taller than the pile because it's so far out of square that it slopes down on one side, you can see in the pics. I've never seen a knife off this far, not even toy knives, they're usually much more symmetrical side to side. Don't know what to make of it. Couldn't see any of this in the listing, the views that were shown appear to have been posed to conceal this issue. There was no word of it in the description. Nothing mentioned or shown. Obviously. Had this been mentioned or shown in the pics I would have passed on by. Deal breaker. You win some you lose some.

Ivoryman,
I'd love to hear some comments from some of our Case authorities concerning the knife you posted. I wouldn't bat an eye at that as an EDC but I certainly understand your disappointment as you weren't probably looking for one to use everyday.

Wow iman. Very stunned at that one given the knife era. Never seen that before, ever.
Besides some significant junk seen in 80s' and 90s' (bad attention to detail and QA in that timeframe IMO) just have not seen that on an older knife like that.
Looks to me like a very bad hafting job and based on your comment regarding mismatch of handle slab dimensions. Possibly a handle slab meant for a different barehead pattern? Could be wrong without knife in hand but that is what it looks like.
