Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
An old one and a new one!
First is a tested era 6172 with the pattern # and 3pin handles which should indicate that it was fairly early in the tested era. It also sports the bowtie sheild.
And second ,I just can't get enough of these, an Antique bone tribal lock.

Wow gsmith, that Tested era is beautiful. They don't make bones like that anywhere anymore. Fabulous. XxTestedXx, knocking it out of the park on multiple hits there. Love the old green and Rogers bones on the oldies. Both of you rocked it today.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups
Funny you should ask - I have been playing with it, and after about 20 tries I did manage to OHO it. I can now do it maybe 1 out of 3 tries. I have fairly large hands (XL work gloves) and I think that helps a little. I just powered it open with my thumb using heavy, slow pressure and a careful hold on the handle in my palm. It is not fast nor does it feel natural. It is a fairly scary thing to do and it is not something I would do in normal every day use.QTCut5 wrote: Sooooo.....can you OHO it?

Thanks, wish the blade didn’t have the pitting. It’s very shallow and could probably be cleaned, and got out... but I’m not gonna do that. The handles are great and the shield is nice.jlw257 wrote:Jdub, very nice 65 with wonderful Greenbone, like the Bomb shield too

Jdub, Amen to Larry's comment. That is a fine ol' knife no matter if does have pits.
