Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Tom,

Here is a slick black 2234 I've had for some years now. The handles on your knife look like newer handles but it could just be the lighting and pictures. This knife is uncleaned and blades are near full. I believe this pattern was discontinued very early in the Tested time frame as witnessed by both blades being stamped.

Wayne, nice knife. I agree about the early discontinuation as most Tested era knives are of course stamped on the master blade only. Interesting that both of ours are stamped on both blades. Usually that is a red flag but I knew the knife was authentic. You are correct about the handles on my knife. They are replacements. Also interesting that a lot of very experienced Case collectors have told me they had never encountered the pattern before as well. Thanks for posting yours. ::tu::

I was at a local gunshow this morning, one of the best ones in the region in my opinion. Forks of the Delaware antique gun collectors sponser the show at Agricultural Hall at the Allentown Fairgrounds. A very nice Farmers Market is across the parking lot. Anyway, I picked up the pictured Case XX Stainless M5 Finn fixed blade. Not mint but pretty nice nonetheless. These Minnies could be addictive :D
Piked up 2 Kabars too, look in the board if interested.

Cool looking "litte" knife Steve. I like smaller knives anyways. Nice handle on it! I'd say that's a Touchdown!!! ::tu:: ::super_happy::
Like that tape mesure with inches & centimetres on it. Gotta get me one of those. ::hmm::

This peanut was screaming at me. Love this Appaloosa bone, one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen. Hard to believe this knife is 40 years old, Case XX 1 dot.
