Deutschmann from Olbertz?

I saw this one on eBay this morning and had to have it.
I hope you can see the etch in the pics.
It has the Eye Brand "Premium Quality Hammer Forged" etch.
Instead of the 2 eyes, the etch has 2 hands.
It looks to have the Olbertz tang stamp, but I can't tell for sure.
Seemed very interesting to me.
What do you guys think?

Keith,
Post some better photos when you take delivery but I have never seen or heard of such. About all I can make out in the photo is the etch of the hands.

Hi Ray,
I didn't think they would look too good. I tried to do a screenshot of the images and then save them as jpegs. I haven't found a way to save a pic directly from eBay that has the magnification tool enabled. I will take better pics when I receive it.

Thanks

All, do an Advanced Search on eBay under "Vintage Heutschmann Premium Quality Solingen". The listing misspells Deutschmann with an "H". You can get a better zoom on the knife there. Interesting trapper from Olbertz but I don't think it is an Eye Brand relative. I,too, have never seen the brand name before. Seems to have some vintage to it also. Nice find Keith.

Well, I received the knife and I was a little surprised to see that the tang stamp was not the Olbertz logo. It was the hand logo that is on the blade etch. The etch looks like an Eye etch (replacing the eyes with hands), like the 1970s Kissing Cranes etch. The frame does not look like an Eye Brand to me. Also, the secondary blade and the pile side of the main blade reads Stainless, not Rostfrei or Rustless. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I found it in Goins.
It says: HAND (inside a diamond) MADE IN W. GERMANY after 1945 "Farmers Stock Knife" is stamped on the blade.
(open hand) SOLINGEN GERMANY g 1950-1970 "Deutschmann Premium Quality Hammer Forged" with an open hand on each side is etched on the blade.
(hand holding bomb) g 1950-1970 "Solingen" is stamped on the back of the tang.
Seems like one that not many of us are going to have or find, Keith. Clearly influenced by Schlieper with no indication of any connection.
I'll be interested to know how the steel compares to the Eyes of that same time frame. ::tu::

Thanks Ray,

I didn't think to look in Goins for 'Hand'. As for the steel, I probably won't be able to bring myself to sharpen and carry it.
I'll probably just clean it up and put it in my storage cabinet.

Thanks again,
