Its been a year since anyone has posted in this thread. I would guess TPK your knife has doubled in value now. Here is a 3 eye canoe I picked up.

I don't know if this pocket knife should be posted here or not, but I didn't want to create a new thread for it. I very recently obtained this pocket knife in a group of five pocket knives that I purchased. I did NOT buy the lot to get this particular knife. It is a single blade, 3 3/4" closed, 6 7/8" open, all metal, lockback pocket knife. It is stamped STAINLESS on the handle. It is stamped SOLINGEN on the bottom. It has two tang stamps. One tang stamp says STAINLESS and the other tang stamp is the "EYE" logo (with NO wording). It actually looks just like a smaller version of the MERCATOR K55ꓘ and similar pattern/style pocket knives. I'm not positive that this is a legitimate "EYE BRAND." I'm not 100% sure of the country of origin for this pocket knife. I'm hoping it's GERMANY, but if it's JAPAN, that's ok too. It's in GREAT condition, well made and required no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I think it is a legitimate Eye Brand knife made in Solingen. It could be a contract knife made by Mercator for Schlieper.

Thank you Roland.🍻
I was leaning towards it being legit.
Either way, it's still a nice piece of cutlery.

Believe KJ has it nailed. Classic Mercator type knife. Not a typical pattern in the Schlieper lineage of cutlery. Interesting find, though. Most Mercator knives that I have seen or owned were definitely not stainless. A good one to pique more interest.

New to the forum. Could anyone help provide an age for this German Eye knife? Thanks.

I have a question that I hope someone on the forum can answer. I have two Olsen jumbo swing guard folders

. I have seen the identical knife marked Carl Schlieper over the years. Was this a contract knife made by Schlieper, or did Olsen of Gemany make these for Carl Schlieper?

Let's see if I can sort this out for response.... The brass multi-blade dates from the 1950s to the early 1970s using the tang stamp. This stamp was used again later but I believe this one is from the earlier time frame.

The Olsens were almost surely made by Schlieper. The ones I have owned had too many similarities not to have been made by Schlieper.

Here's an old big trapper, a regular pale yellow trapper and a novelty gun shaped one that is a little risky closing because you push the hammer to unlock the blade and your finger is in a really bad spot. Works kind of like a cigar cutter.____Dave

I couldn't pass up this old warhorse. Main blade used up, but profiled into a wharnie. Sharpened up razor sharp in no time. Going into the EDC rotation.
