Black Widow and Red Wasp

Post by Eye Brand Man »

I believe these were made in the early 90’s before Schlieper shut down. Pretty neat knives. They must not have made to many because there not very common. I picked these up over the years at gun shows.

I have not seen these before. I wonder if they were an SFO for a sporting store or some other business ?

These knives were not in the U. S. line of cutlery before the Schlieper bankruptcy. Probably done by Risener sometime in the later 90’s or an SFO as KJ suggests.

I was just guessing on the time frame. In the manuscript that you, Palidan and handlewithcare recently put out it mentions the “red wasp” but list it as being 5”closed. And the “black widow “as being 6” I’ve never seen one that size but was just assuming the ones I have were made around the same time.

The ones I have are 4-1/8” for the trappers and 3-1/2” on the stockman.

Very pleasing etches. And, of course we know they are of good German quality. ::tu::
