I just picked up another 89 OT for my Old Timer collection....
When I saw it was a 89 OT with a Master Mechanic shield..... I thought I had better check into JUST HOW MANY variations this knife has...
Now I have....
The good ole 89 OT.... Totally.... Old Timer all the way.....
And the 89 OT with the 89 OT tang stamp and a Master Mechanic shield......
AND....
The Old Timer shield with the MM89 tang stamp.....
But.... there is also a MM89 with the Master Mechanic shield....
AND... looks like a couple of 89 OTs with a blade etch only.....
The MM89
& the MM89CP (what ever that is)
It never ends.... does it?

The MM34 looks like they stamped Schrade on the tang after the blade was heat treated.
It does not come out clear in the picture.

In Imperial Schrade Corp. terminology the "CP" suffix just meant "clam pack" packaging as opposed to a tube or box. As in this example dealers often had a choice of the two packaging options. Nice to see these!Meridian_Mike wrote:

I don't always respond to great posts but I always appreciate seeing them. Thanks for posting!
