Re: Ulster Old Timer Offers gallery
I never got around to photographing my Prince Albert pocket tin and knives, but I have these pictures saved from the web.

The Ulster "Old Timer" 58, Junior Serpentine Stock knife is one of the BEST all round pocket knives, along with the 1/4" larger Camillus 72.
They show up on ebay. Try to get one not heavily used. Mint examples are rare.

Excellent additional posts from members! When I was a young man I rolled Prince Albert cigs in a rolling machine and smoked them; very tasty, but, as we know, tobacco is a deadly substance. I am eleven years free now from formerly massive amounts of Copenhagen and I have invested the $20,000 (or so) into knives instead, and have not spent much on the doctors, either. Go figure?
Re: Ulster Old Timer Offers gallery
I used to carry a tin of Prince Albert in my pocket and hand roll. (probably get stopped by a cop for doing that now) I cough just thinking about it. When I was a kid I used to use a machine to roll cigarettes for my aunt and uncle that produced five or six cigarettes at a time using one long paper and cutting the long cigarette in the final step on the machine. They preferred Bugler brand. I've been a snuff dipper for over 40 years and I think it's become part of my DNA. Currently I'm a $58.00 a month snuff junky and I've been having thoughts about robbing liquor stores to pay for the extra tax the feds keep adding to get me to quit.tongueriver wrote:Excellent additional posts from members! I was looking for something else and ran across this on ebay today. The knife offer coupon is for the "Whittler" only. First one I have seen.

Yes. The entire factory collection was parted out and sold on eBay.kootenay joe wrote:Amazing ! Super fine examples all, and Bob W are the Schrade Factory knives yours ?
An interesting, or not, story about my set. The original Ulster 58OT from the set was missing, probably lost in the hustle, and replaced with a similar Schrade knife. I purchased a 58OT separately to complete the set correctly.
Also, more interesting, the tobacco can still has the original wrapper and tobacco.

Pictured is a 580T with smooth bone handles. Anyone have one of these? I have no idea of how long they used bone or if they even started out with bone.

I was thinking around 1959-60 the same time they used bone on the 20T and 80T.thawk wrote:Pictured is a 580T with smooth bone handles. Anyone have one of these? I have no idea of how long they used bone or if they even started out with bone.

The 580T and 500T both had bone handles. The 500T was only made for two year. Wish I could show better pictures as my knives are locked in storage.

Here is my display. My utility knife is missing the lanyard ring but I am happy that I finally found all the knives (and a can with the paper inside)

Re: Ulster Old Timer Offers gallery
Got this set cleaned up a little and ready to put away . Thought would post a pic here on this old thread . Doesn’t seem to be a lot of interest in these ,but they’re getting harder to find ,especially in good shape . The knives are great EDCs and it seems they all got used hard . These 3 are good shape .
If anyone else has any to show off or got any interesting info to add , please do so .
Take care,stay safe and warm.

Re: Ulster Old Timer Offers gallery
I was fortunate enough to find a mint example of the 58OT less than a year ago for under $25 shipped. I just wish it had a sheepfoot instead of the spey.
