Post your Slenderino Knives

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

These are my Schrade slenderinos and since this topic is under the Schrade Legacy Forum umbrella, I'll just post Schrades.

The craftsman 9553, 9505, schrade 855 and ulster 58ot and any other variants I missed (all were made in the same factory) are all great little slenderinos. ::tu::

I found another 861 slenderino and it came in today. This one is in nice shape, corrosion damage aside. What makes it kind of neat is the combination of delrin handles with a polished front side main blade and a craftsman etch. Rather snappy knife, very tight and solid feeling, good for fiddlin' with.

Here's a really nice 899 that I've had squirreled away for a couple years. I really like the subtle and graceful upsweep to the tip on the main blade, so very appealing.

Thank you Floyd. I appreciate that. :)

I took some pics of the slenderino that's in my pocket today. I like how they turned out.

I was told that this was a Slenderino, and it definitely has that shape, it is a "stay at home" online find and purchase. Apparently it is also one of the American Eagle series. Whichever, whatever I just fell for the brass bolsters, liners & shield, makes for a colorful conversation starter. I also know it was made by Schrade in the late 60's early 70's & has the pesky Swindon Key blade attachment system. No worries, I'm basically a Buck 300 series collector, but I just liked the looks of this one, and it's basically a clone of the Buck #303 Cadet made by Schrade during the same time period, (both 3.5" closed).
