Daniel Boone SWCut DB1

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I picked this knife up on evil bay and I am really pleased. Less than $20 shipping and all. I think it is cool as all get out. Tell me what you think.

I'd say that is a good bargain at $20. Not sure if it came with any packaging originally, but I like it regardless!

Sorry my pictures are not that good maybe tomorrow I will try to use the sun and take a few. Thank you guys yeah I was well pleased with the knife. It has serial number 0044 on the bolster. I wonder how many were made. I cleaned it up a little and oiled the joints. I really do like it. I guess I will put it with my Paul Revere SWCut knife.

Landersknives,

That knife was produced in 1976 and they made 12,000 of them, according to my Schrade Records. You got a great buy there and a low serial number to boot.
