Schrade 293Y in plastic tube

Post by Beag1eGal »

Hello.
I have one,of my dads old knives and am just trying to get a better date on it.
It has never been sharpened. It is a yellow handle trapper in a plastic tube that says
Schrade Everlastingly Sharp and inside is instructions on how to sharpen it.
The tang stamp says. Schrade NY. And on back side of tang is model number 293Y
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I feel safe in saying "The last half of the 1970s."

Ok. Thank you. I was kind of leaning towards that. Dad had Dementia and did not know where or when it came from. Or who's knife it even was. We lost him a year ago, so just trying to keep some things together with as much info as possible.

Your dad had very good taste in cutlery. It's a very nice knife and nice keepsake.
As tongueriver posted, 1973 to 1979 for one with that tang stamp. '79 being the last year for that knife and a good guess would be later in that period.
