168uh-w. Don't see many of these. Seen one on another knife forum but it did not have this coloring. This knife's color is more like the photo on collectors of schrade web site. Not sure what the handle material is. Maybe someone can help?

James, is that one you got recently from ebay?
I have been seeing a lot of 168UHs that have non-standard handles.
I think they are unfinished blades from the factory that someone put handles on after the factory closed.
I don't think those handles ever were listed in the catalogs.

Maybe someone else knows for sure; Eric, Cal, Tom, Hal?

Hey Dale. I purchased this from a collector in VA. I'm told he got it from blue ridge knives from inventory acquired from the schrade auction. This is the only one I've seen that matches the pictured on collectors of schrade r us

I think that's most likely legit, I've seen a few like that with an Old Timer shield, as well as one done for LL Bean that had the old fake wood delrin handles that I think were used on the Russell barlow. I think yours is likely an unfinished example. What you have to watch out for are the ones with the odd wood handles, they're likely re-makes.

Here's a somewhat rare setup, an original LB-7 in the original display case that was available for about a year during the LB-7 rollout. These were given to stores to be used as a countertop display, not to be sold. Along with this display would be a shpment of LB-7's in the standard white Uncle Henry boxes. Has a hard plastic lid and even came with a chamois. Knife is serial number 175:

That's good stuff right their Keith. Like that sheath with the 227! Do you know what year the lb7 had the blade etch? What is the serial# on the 171?

I believe 2001-2002 on the LB7DP but I'm not sure

The serial number on the 171UH is 03349.

Nice group Keith! I believe that etch was exclusive to knives bound for Europe, they required the type of steel to be prominent on the blades.

Jay, thanks for checking that out, I'm not sure if they had an image for that setup or not, I'll have to check. This is one of the first ads for the LB7, although I seem to recall one where the hand had some dirty fingers as well

Just recieved this set of Uncle Henry Lockbacks

I believe the set was put together for Snap-on Tools but I'm not sure

I love the black wood handles and nickel silver bolsters

Nice set of LB's Keith. Those are the older stamps, with no Uncle Henry written in script correct? I think there were a lot of SNAP ON sets, but if these are not etched, I would believe they were a production set offered to retailers.
