Various Schrade knife lists - All organized on 1 page

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I don't think Schrade made a stockman with a saw.
If they made one it never was listed in their catalogs.

It took me 5 years to put together those lists from 1946 to 2004. I spent thousands of hours and hundreds of dollars to buy catalogs and literature to comb through to get the list that is there.

I think it is your turn Dave to step up to the plate and take one for the team!
There are only a couple catalogs that you have to go through and put the info in a spread sheet.
If a guy worked at it 8 hours per day, he could probably do it in a couple weeks. ::nod::
That is a piece of cake compared to searching to find missing years of catalogs, price lists & flyers and having to correct the info in my spread sheet every time I found a missing catalog or price list.
My hands are too crippled to do that much typing again. I can type or work on knives, but not both. Guess which one I am going to do! ::super_happy::
Here I can use dictation software but that is too cumbersome in a spread sheet.

You can do it Blister, "BATTER UP!" ::tu::

Catalog E & Supplements, reprinted by A.G. Russell covers 1926 to 1938.
Schrade Catalog #40 is circa 1940.
There was probably not a lot produced for the civilian market during WWII, so basically you just need to put the info in Catalog E & Supplements and Catalog #40 in the spread sheet.
The tricky part (and most expensive) will be finding catalogs from 1904 through 1925.

GWelker,
Neither the 886UH nor 898UH were part of the standard catalogs which is why Dale had not listed them. I think they were SFO's.
Thanks for for bringing them up. Ill dig up the stats and post.
Thanks for the welcome back Glenn and Dale. Wasn't too far away.

This is from an old post on Blade Forums.

"Here is the response from Schrade on the 886UH I have just acquired.

The model 886UH was not a regular product in the Uncle Henry line, but it was a specially ordered Uncle Henry item that was manufactured exclusively in the very early 1980's (probably around 1982) for a hardware distribution chain across the U.S. that are now out of business (I believe it might have been Belknap). It was not considered to be a high quality product, as this chain was looking for a "low-end", "low-cost" item, and so it was specially made for them. There was a total of about 30,000 of these items shipped during that time, so they can be considered to be fairly collectible. I guess it could be considered to be a limited edition knife, even though it was not manufactured as such. The retail at that time was only about $18.00. There was no Loss Warranty included with these knives, but if someone did claim a loss, we still honored it.

I hope this is helpful, and if we can be of any further assistance, please let us know.

Best Regards,

IMPERIAL SCHRADE CORP."

Both 886UH & 898UH were made by Camillus from 1979-1982. Should have a SCC stamping

Cat # Style 1979 1980 1981 1982 Total Shipped
1408 886UH 6,784 14,457 10,603 341 32,185
1409 898UH 6,784 17,808 13,006 328 37,926
