I picked this Camillus Engineering knife a couple months ago, very clean knife ,the tang stamp is a little fuzzy, also has 3 diamond shape indents on the front pin, curious if this is WWII era or later.
Thanks for any information.

Beautiful old knife. It seems like I've seen those indentations on unffinished knives, I wonder if the finishing operation on this knife might have been inadvertently uncompleted.

It’s a beautiful knife.
I believe the can opener tells the story.
That style disappeared pretty quickly when the hook style came into being.
I'd say your knife is early ww2 at the latest.
I’m no expert. I look forward to other’s opinions on the matter

What I don’t understand. All the scrap drives and essential lists and materials shortages, stories of shop classes making knives and donated knives for the war effort. So how did an early ww2 knife not see service? It looks brand new.
Someone had it squirreled away.

Beautiful antique knife. I've seen such indentations on unfinished blades, and I'm wondering whether the finishing procedure on this knife was mistakenly left incomplete.

I also have doubts about the veracity of this story. Actually, the time period ww2 to the present is not a short period and a lot has happened. I am waiting for the author's proper confirmation.
