Camillus 717 "Rusty Wallace Edition"???

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Camillus 717 "Rusty Wallace Edition"???

Post by Chrisd703 »

Hi All,

I have this Camillus 717 that appears to be a collectors edition for Rusty Wallace? I'm not a huge Nascar fan, so I may be getting the driver wrong.

Anybody know anything about this particular knife? Cannot find anything online about the Nascar stamp on it.

Thanks

Chris

Hi and ::welcome:: to AAPK.
I am by no means, an expert on any aspect of cutlery.
If that knife isn't a special factory order, and I don't believe it is,
then my best guess is that a fan of Rusty Wallace, "modified" the knife. ::shrug::

Hi Skip,

Thank you. Ya know, I can't believe I hadn't thought of that! That would certainly explain why it's not traceable anywhere online. I will say, that if someone custom did it themselves, they did a near flawless job. I wish I was a Rusty Wallace fan!

If you don't like the knife, you could always sell it as a Brad Keselowski knife. He has the same car number. Most of the time when a driver retires, the same number goes to the next driver of that car. More often than not, the "font" doesn't change either. That's too bad because then people don't know which driver you're referring to.
