Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

I forgot that this Camillus 72 "Ole Smoky" is a Camillus 72 variation. Now I need the "ducks" and the "plain" variations. ::dang::

Today's addition to the "72" variation family, another Schrade 863.
I also received this (Schrade) Craftsman 9494 tang stamp punch and
while it's obviously not a knife, it did take part in completing Camillus
72 variations.

Today I received this Camillus 1047 pattern Scout Knife. I have quite a few 1047's. But this is my first 1047 pattern, that Camillus made, with the federal style shield. The blades all have good snap and no wobble. The handles are not very good at all. This is a filler example until I find a nicer one. Of course, it is another Camillus 72 variation.

Thank you Doc B. I've been looking for one of this style for awhile. I knew when I bought it that the handles were messed up, but figured better this one than none. I have an Imperial Scout Knife (posted on page 2) with a plastic federal style shield. I have to find that knife with a metal federal shield also. The hunt goes on.............

Today I received this mint condition, swelled center, 3-blade, Remington whittler pocket knife. There is no pattern # stamped or etched on the tang. But, per the seller, the # is RE18293. Another Camillus 72 variation off the list. Now for the wood handled variation.

Well, mystery knife arrived today. I'm just going to call it an unbranded, 3 blade, swelled center, whittler, pocket knife. I don't care if it was made in Pakistan, China or by a 5 year old girl in Indonesia. To me, and after all, that's all that matters, this IS a Camillus 72 variation. I can find no trace of any kind of tang stamp or manufacturer mark or country of origin. It measures 3 5/8" long, closed. It has nice weight to it. All the blades have great snap and no wobble. It looks NICE! :D ::tu::

Got this Ulster 63 yesterday. There is no shield (by design) and no pattern # anywhere on this particular knife.
Another variation of a variation?
I'm still looking for the "63" with the pattern # on the opposite side of the main tang stamp.

My newest addition is this "Red Deer", 3 blade, swelled center, 3 5/8" closed, pocket knife. Made in Pakistan. It fits the criteria to be considered a Camillus 72 variation. It is marked on the main blade only, "Red Deer" (pictured) and on the opposite side, "Pakistan", which is too light to be pictured.
