Camillus Tang stamps

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Camillus Tang stamps

Post by stockman »

I purchased a older Camillus knife tang stamped with the four line stamp it is stamped on both blades. Goins' Enc. 1919 to 1941. Bone steel bolsters. Any way to get closer on date of birth.

Hi Stockman,

It was good to meet you at the Tulsa show.

If any one can give you details on that beauty, Camco is "Da Man"!

Best wishes,

Phil

Hello Phil, It was also nice to meet you. Two friends and myself have been going to Tulsa for this show for ten to twelve years now, we go to both shows each year. It is the best show within 200 miles of our home. Hope you enjoyed your weekend. Hope to meet others on the forum in the future.
Jonet 143, yes I have looked at that site it is impressive.

Camillus made the large elephant toenail knives more than 70 years ago. I believe the last ones were made in the 1920's or 1930's. These knives are very valuable and sought by knife collectors.
I will look through my catalogs and see if I can find any info.
