Camilla tang stamp

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

The #6 first showed up in catalogs in 1976. The last time it was seen was in a 1993 Price List. So your Huntsman was made from approximately 1976-1993. The handles were called "Indian Stag" (Delrin®).

I think the knives in the "Sword Brand" line would sometimes use a bit different tang stamps.

Here's my #8:

Yeah. I have yet to run across anyone who has nailed down that "no line" tang stamp. Camillus tang stamps are pretty arbitrary at the very best.

Edit: You may be on to something there Suitcase.
