Re: Callimus 67 Stockman
Very little without pictures, other than that it's a large stockman pattern made after WWII.

Vit, I would say from the first half of that decade or maybe even the very late '50s. Those handles look like "Brownstag® and that was only used for about ten years, from about 1956 until approximately 1965 or a little after when Delrin® was adopted.Vit_213 wrote: My #67 from the 60s
My #67 has the black handles. It's also a long line so probably approximately the same age as yours.

From 1946 to close of business and the steel is Camilluses standard 1095 carbon steel.deltaboy wrote:When were they made and what type of carbon steel are in them!jerryd6818 wrote:What do you want to know?deltaboy wrote:What can you tell me about this knife?

Re: Callimus 67 Stockman
Wouldn't at least some of the later knives be using the same steel as the Cold Steel "Carbon-V" folders? I remember reading that it was just a matter of branding, but that the steel on the Camillus-branded carbon knives was molecularly identical to those CS knives (they also used the stuff in some of their modern folders).
It's excellent steel, though rather quick to take corrosion if you're not on top of things and live in a high-humidity area.
deltaboy, it's always a fun romp through history going through the old Camillus catalogs. You see how some of the patterns evolved or changed and it helps greatly with the dating: http://www.collectors-of-camillus.us/Ca ... talogs.htm

Re: Callimus 67 Stockman
Should be an excellent knife, just grabbed my first one, looks to be a little used short line bone handled. Don't seem to see the bone handled ones all that often.
Sellers pic, has not arrived yet.

A short line, bone handle 67 in that condition, what more could a man ask for. Congratulations.
