Callimus 21 peanut

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Great idea for a topic!

I love the 21 pattern also! I had to do some digging and take some pictures, but here are two that I could locate:
The top one is celluloid with the Sword Brand tang stamp on the front and the four-line Camillus tang stamp on the rear.
The bottom one in the picture has Rogers bone handles in the long line Camillus tang stamp.

I probably have a couple more these at least and maybe one or two that need handles.

Please Note:
Please upload your pictures directly to AAPK.
Please do not post links to off-site photo hosting services. This is AAPK policy.
The reason for the policy is we like to be able to access the pictures of the knives posted here years from now, and not just in the next few months or years. If you go into other forums that use photo hosting services and look at a topic that is five or six years old, often the pictures of the knife in the OP are missing and many of the other pictures in the topic also.
One of the main reasons for keeping the pictures is for future research. So that years from now people doing research on knives will be able to find the pictures that you and other AAPK members have posted.

We want to save as many pictures it is much of the description and history as possible for other people when they are you trying to find images and information about old knives.
Thank you! ::tu::

I only have one. As an SFO for SMKW it has bone handles and the "Ole Smoky" etch on the master blade. My only disappointment with the knife is because it doesn't have threaded bolsters like the older ones (see pics of Dale's knives). If you wanted a matching pair, you could get a #22. The only difference is the #22 has yellow synthetic handles (Maize Pyroxylin).

Dale, I enlarged the images and adjusted the brightness and contrast some before posting the pictures. You can enlarge most (not all) images simply by holding down the Ctrl key and rolling your mouse wheel forward (back to shrink). When finished, hold the Ctrl key and hit the 0 (zero) key on the top row of number keys (not the ten key pad). That will put the screen display back to normal.

On 'flickr' where deltaboy (Mike ?) has his images stored, you can simply left click on the image to enlarge it. Left click again to return it to normal.

There were a couple black composites they used then, one was FG stag, made by Foster Grant company. I believe the FG stag is the most prevalent black composite used before Delrin.

They're like the 14, 18, 23, 29, 35 and a few others, there's not very much variety there for collecting. I have 7 of the 14's but there's really only 4 variations. The dad gummed things are like potato chips. Ya just can't stop with one.
