Show Your Camillus Fixed Blade Knives

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

This one is the Camillus 5665L66 USAAF Emergency Kit Knife. They were supplied in 1942, 5 inch blade, 35,500 were made almost evenly split between stagged bone and stagged rosewood. Sheathes supplied by J.H.Mosser.

I picked this one up at a yard sale over the weekend. It's pretty beat up, and the sheath is wrong, but the price was to good to pass up.

The guy I got it from said it is a "old army knife". I did'nt ask him what war, but if it is ww2 maybe the sheath is mill. issue. I do'nt see any other markings on the knife and I have'nt cleaned it yet. do you know where to look for some clues to it's age?

Don't know how I missed posting to this thread...... Here are my Camillus fixed blades. Mark I USN on the left and six JPSK. The two JPSKs on the left are undated, making them pre 1967. Of course the first one on the left has the 6 inch blade. The rest have 5 inch blades. Continuing left to right the third one is dated 1967, then 1972, 1975 and 1984.
