Camillus #1009 Date?
Camillus #1009 Date?
I've read a comment on another thread stating that the tang stamp on my knife was used until 1974. I would love to be able to confirm/document that if I can. Any help and/or information will be greatly appreciated....

Camillus stopped making the combat knife after WWII and resumed production in 1962. Yours is 1962-1974 because Camillus dropped the N.Y. from the stamp in 1974.
This is a post 1974 knife.

Camillus called this model the "Trailblazer" in there catalogs. Yes the NY was dropped after 74'.

Thank you both very much for the information. I also learned that these knives were made for the Quantico PX for private purchase by the Marines stationed there and those were shipped with black sheaths.
