camillus #72

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Here's the last customized 72 I own. It'll stay, the other I gave to dad. Glennbad did this one for me. Excuse the smudge on the shield. I didn't notice until I cropped the image that I hadn't gotten all the wax off when I waxed it last.

A Lazy Saturday at home so quite naturally I gravitate to my knife room.I'm doing some cleaning and rearranging and I notice it''s taking along time on my 72 section. I look around and I am surrounded by 72's. Someone recently suggested that it could be time for some intervention regarding my appetite for Northwoods, they may be right. I now have 50 72 clones and to top it off I have two more on my ebay watch list.

That's quite a pile you've accumulated Greg. Here's a couple you might want to keep an eye out for.

Tommy that one is marked High Carbon steel USA so I'm guessing it was made for Sears. It' got milled liners and is in the configuration of a first gen 72. At times I think there is a remnant of a Sta-Sharp etch on the blade but I can't be sure.
