camillus #72

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Jerry they were made pretty close to each other by the serial #'s. I was sure you would have one. ::nod:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Paul, I get the impression they didn't produce a lot of 72s with both sides saber ground. At least you don't see many of them. ::shrug::

In my meager but growing accumulation of 72s, I have two with the full saber grind. One is a first-gen, the other is a 1047 that doesn't seem cobbled.

My main user 1047 is a single-side saber grind. It also has the swage on one side only.

Camillus liked that single-sided saber grind on a lot of their knives, it seems. I've got a 21 with it, too.

Very nice Tony. I see you go for quality, not quantity. There is enough slight variations in the 72 line to keep you busy and your pocketbook emptied for quite some time to come. And that doesn't include the clones.

Here's the last customized 72 I own. It'll stay, the other I gave to dad. Glennbad did this one for me. Excuse the smudge on the shield. I didn't notice until I cropped the image that I hadn't gotten all the wax off when I waxed it last.
