The Other Brands

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Thank you, Greg.
As I said, It's in decent shape but it really isn't much of a knife. The guard is aluminum and it weighs next to nothing.
I wouldn't want to have to rely on it too much. :)

I discover McGrew a small Ark knife company had Callimus as a supplier for their pocket knifes.

McGrew was a pawn shop that had their own brand made by Camillus (for one. May have been others too.)

Here is an old Gamble Stores stockman, made by Camillus between 1940 and 1950, I believe. I am in the process of repairing this knife (you can see the broken punch), and took these photos before I disassembled it.

Others have already shown their Camco knives, but I thought this little 3” Jack is pretty. I did not get all of the pitting off of the blades, but hand-sanded as much as I could.
I had planned on giving it to my brother for his birthday tomorrow (after a warning about the celluloid handles), but I have the flu now and don’t want to pass that along, too.

Just picked up 4, new in the box McGrew Knife Company 3 blades manufactured by Camillus as part of a huge estate purchase. These are the Camillus 72 style. I understand they're not worth a lot, but thought I'd share with other Camillus collectors.

Thanks. I'm just beginning to touch the tip of the iceberg as far as this purchase is concerned. Already found several other Camillus and will show them off soon also.
