Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Recent pick up, a Grand daddy barlow with no line stamp. Nice knife with great snap.
Some good steel on this one, it sharpened up nice.

Congratulations. Those no line stamps don't pop up very often.WelderBob wrote:Recent pick up, a Grand daddy barlow with no line stamp. Nice knife with great snap.

Thanks Jerry, I think this is my only no line stamp. Pattern #9 on the tang.

Picked up this large 92 Congess,4 1/8". They don't seem to be all that common.

[Doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things but it's the first one I've seen. Very impressive.

.....I've never seen one of these, either, what is the tang stamp on these?????......... ..................
Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Thanks guys, it has the long line tang stamp. Joe has the only other one I have seen, same as this one.
Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Very nice Congress John! My Camillus tang stamp chart says this stamp was used circa 1960 to circa 1976 if I am seeing your tang stamp correctly ! John would you please, if you can, post a closeup of that tang stamp? Thanks!!

Thanks Lloyd, I was thinking 50's 60's, here is a pic.
Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
A three Camillus day, (or serrated blade day; either way works). All three knives were made by Camillus, only one wears the brand. I carried them all today, the Congress in my watch pocket, the others in belt sheaths, (one on each side; didn't want to be unbalanced). The Crossman lockblade is a new arrival, the other two I've had awhile, having a serrated blade on all of them is an added plus for me.

The rat-tail bolsters are something else I've never seen on one from that late (maybe late '50s -- mid '60s).JohnR wrote:Thanks Lloyd, I was thinking 50's 60's, here is a pic.

Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
Here's a 3 & 4 from what I've learned was the Z series. I'm pretty sure that meant, last of the stuff. These are the only Camillus branded 3's and 4's that had nickel bolsters and not brass- the Z's.
I've seen this Camillus made knife for Crosman and McGrew with this set up, but scarcely with a Camillus blade. I got a couple in boxes which directed my research efforts but to date, there is barely any info on these and I seldom see them around.

While I’ve been a lurker on these forums for years, this is my first post. I just picked this up at a local pawn shop and thought it was interesting enough to warrant a post. M.D.-U.S.N made by Camillus during ww2.

Welcome to the light long time lurker Bfeldman. Now that you've broken the ice, get with it. You probably feel like you "know" just about everyone that posts on AAPK so we're probably not strangers to you.

I hope this isn’t out of line, but I’ve opted to put the above knife up for sale and I think some folks around here might be interested.

In my opinion, the price is greatly overestimated .Bfeldman wrote:I wasn’t sure of pricing

Re: Show Us Your Camillus Knives!
I just got this one in my hands. The main blade has no snap at all. The other 2 blades have great snap. As a matter of fact, the main blade doesn't push the spring at all. There doesn't look like there is enough wear to the knife to cause the blade to wear away where it runs on the spring... ... More will come to light during a quick clean-up. This one might need to make a visit to my clinic.....
Not in bad shape otherwise. Blades have hardly any wear... just the usual rust, etc.
Thanks for looking everyone.
Mike
