Hey Guys, Thought I would post my Sword Brand Camillus Cotton Sampler. As most of you know I use to collect antique cotton samplers. This is the only one I ever found by Camillus. Have any of you seen this pattern before in Camillus? What date would you put on this knife. Thanks guys, Mark

Like many of the previous posts, I too have never seen that Sword Brand tang stamp. It did get me curious, so I looked through my Camillus knives. These two are the only Sword Brand that are stamped (APPROXIMATELY 1941-1946). I have one that has a blade etch, but that is the more recent pattern.

I can't believe I had one of those when I was active duty back in the early 70s. I don't have a clue what became of it and now I'm looking for one in mint or excellent condition which usually carries a price tag of $100.00 or better when I had one that was free, issued by Uncle Sam.

I know Millstom78 has a second one at nearly half that price. I can't attest to it's condition, but the one he sent me is in excellent condition.

Hey Carmillus, I spent the better part of a year a few years back(teaching myself) how to professionally clean knives. Here were a couple that I did. I hope this post doesnt offend anyone & if it does, Please let me know & I will delete it

......WOW!!........I have it's twin brother, only mine has the arched,dash, dot, dash mark on both blades!!..I have always thought this was the oldest Camillus I have!!!.............. ..................

........mark, the one I have was given to me by my grandfather in 1951, I was 14, and he told me..." take good care of it and it will last you a lifetime"!!...he died in early 1952 and this knife has always been one of my treasures!!..... ...................

Carmillus, It really is amazing huh. I donated this knife to one of my good friends who runs a Camillus museum in Camillus, NY. It will be proudly displayed there for all to enjoy. He didnt have one for the Museum so I thought of no better place for it to be than back at home.

Thanks for the comments. I started collecting Keen Kutters years ago and picked up a few Camillus knives along the way. It wasn't long 'til I realized that almost half of my Keen Kutter's were actually manufactured by Camillus, that piqued my interest in Camillus made knives of all brands that has continued 'til now.

I would say end of days when they were grinding the tang stamps off of blades that had been intended for SFO (Special Factory Order) knives and using them for Camillus knives.

This Camillus 822 is the first Camillus I got over a mouth ago Great for opening blister packs and small boxes. From what I read this one probably came out in the early 90s. The ones in the 80s had wood inlays. I like that mine is all stainless.
