Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Don’t know what I have here. Obviously some kind of 72 clone but no blade markings at all. Looks like some type of bird on the shield. Any ideas?

I've got a couple of those myself.
I knew they were foreign born, but I didn't care.
They were "72" variations/clones and that's all that mattered.

I thought I had two "BIRD" shield pocket knives, I was wrong. I have one "BIRD" shield pocket knife and one "DEER" shield pocket knife. Both have been previously posted under this topic/thread. Both are either made in China, Pakistan, or possibly, one from each country. They are almost identical except for the shields, the nail nicks, the "BIRD" shield having two fake "CATTARAUGUS" tang stamps and the "DEER" shield having no tang stamps. But like I said previously, it doesn't matter to me. Like it or not, they're both "72" variations/clones.

Well, if your a Addict over Camillus 72's and their Clones, it's still a decent addition. No worries, just have fun with the hobby. I've got one as well, and not in as good of shape as yours.

I believe that is an older "White Tail Cutlery" shield Skip. The earlier ones were made in China, but later were made by Paky Stan, and had a ink printed made in stamp, that rubbed off easily.

Thank you Smitty.🍻
The "DEER" shield pocket knife "may" be a "White Tail Cutlery" pocket knife,
but there is no doubt about this pocket knife, which I also previously posted.
This one has no shield and no tang stamps, but it does have the blade etch.
It has the correct three blade configuration (ugly looking blades). It has a
swelled center. But it measures 3" closed, NOT 3 5/8" closed. So, it is NOT an
actual "72" variation/clone.

Only three inch? I've not seen that one. I only have two of the Whitetail Cutlery knives, both are 3-5/8" closed. One is black handled like yours, the other is a faux peal type handle, but doesn't have a shield. The black handle, they weren't careful on where they printed the blade etch. Yeah, quality is a little off.

Received this Craftsman 9494 in the mail , picked it up off the bay . It had a little surface rust in the joints, cleaned that up and put a little oil on it. It is tight, been used a bit,but am happy with it and the price was reasonable. Will clean it up,put some ren wax on it and stick it with the rest of the bunch .
Take care out there folks.

Received this one today to add to my Camillus 72 Clone Family. A Schrade 863. It has the Schrade over N.Y. U.S.A. tang stamp on the clip blade with 863 on the pile side. All blades have great snap, and don't appear to have been on a stone. There are a couple of age spots on the blades and some rubs. The only thing I've done is wash it down with some WD-40 and blow it out. Had lint in the blade wells and there was some kind of glue on the small clip and tip of the Master clip. In the condition it is, with the handles and tang stamp, I believe this one was probably produced right at the end of the 863 run in 1980. Here are the pics.
