Tang & Etch GUIDE dramatically improved 6-2022

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

Tang & Etch GUIDE dramatically improved 6-2022

Post by DanQueencutlerycom »

We are very pleased to announce a significant upgrade to our Queen Cutlery (Schatt & Morgan and Queen City, as well) TANG & ECTCH GUIDE.
The guide now contains 71 references to both old and new blade marks. In additions we have added a complete list of RAZOR, HATCHETS, & SCISSORS marks from all three companies. The tang and etch guide for Dollar knives, Robeson knives (by Queen), and Tuna Valley knives is also included.

While Queen guides have been prepared over 20 years ago, they included only 28 tang marks and no blade etches and had some weaknesses in dating. This new guide is dramatically better! The new guide is always accessible on your modern phone or computer. (Or print off a brief single sheet if you prefer).

This whole guide is absolutely a labor of love, patience, and investigation.

Dear Rea1eye,
Thank you! You are right, it is a way our group spreads it hobby and gives information for free to anybody that wants it. There are several earlier versions, but this one is likely to last for quite a while. If anyone has any tang or etch to add or any revision, please do not hesitate to contact us! Thank you.

Looks great Dan. Every Queen or S&M collector should have a copy.
