Queen letter opener w/folding pen blade

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

Queen letter opener w/folding pen blade

Post by treefarmer »

Can anyone help me with any additional info on this Queen letter opener? What Queen pattern is it based on? My son handed it to me last evening when we stopped by his home for supper. "Early birthday present", he said, "don't think you have one of these." The tang stamp appears to be the '52-'55 era, the crowned Q on it's side. It is a 3 1/4" bone handled frame with pen blade plus the 5 3/8" letter blade. The pin holding the bone to the frame next to the folding blade on the pile side is completely gone.

It's based on the Queen #3 Sleeveboard Pen pattern. Nice Rogers bone.
Queen City. My favorite! Bruno. ::tu::
