New Railsplitter

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

New Railsplitter

Post by royal0014 »

My latest addition to the edc pile .. ::super_happy::

Queen Railsplitter in D2 and gorgeous bone. Gonna get lots of pocket time.

Couple of minor issues .... the closed tangs are seriously sharp-edged.
And the 'walk' is very gritty, esp on the main and sheepsfoot blades.
A good oiling and compressed air helped alot. But the main has a couple of 'stops' in the movement
(no actual half-stop).

I absolutely love the spear/pen blade! Fat thing reminiscent of the secondary on old toenails.

Mine is the regular stainless. But it impresses me and I normally hate stainless. If your D2 is as good you'll love it. Even for a short knife, they are a handful, and heavy springs too, great snap. You'll love it.

I really like the bone in yours. Here's mine for comparison.

Thank you gentlemen.

Wade, maybe it's just the angle of the pic, but yours looks to have more 'hump' than mine ...

Thanks! I noticed that too. I went back and looked st the pics and there MAY be a difference. But, I think it's more angle and the color and jiging of the bone that makes it stand out in mine.

Also, I had totally forgotten this until I saw yours, but in he newer ones they changed the third blade from the spay like mine to a pen on yours.

Yours is beautiful. I know you'll love it.

Nice knife, Chris! I took to the Railsplitter pattern when I first started "collecting" knives about 10 years ago and I haven't grown tired of them yet. The one I currently have in my pocket is just like yours with the Amber Carved Stag Bone, D2 steel, and Pen blade. (top knife in photo)

Most of my Railsplitters I've acquired over the years are Queen made Schatt & Morgan, Robeson, and Northwoods models but the newer Queen branded version like yours is my favorite. The change to D2 steel and a Pen blade was right up my alley. Couldn't have asked for a better "upgrade".

Congrats on a great knife! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

I've got one just like yours. Haven't carried this one yet but I really like the color and jigging.
