Beautiful & 'smooth', thin pointy blades with sharp edges, stainless liners.
This is the finest Queen/Schatt & Morgan i have.
I know of 4 "President's Choice" knives: 2000-2004. Are there more ?

Re: My Finest Queen
Thanks Jerry. I just checked AGR and see the knife of this series i was thinking of as the 4th release is the 8th release, a 4 1/4" Equal End, Double End Jack.
The link shows there now are 9 "President's Choice" knives. My Yankee Muskrat is listed at $115 which is just slightly higher than what i paid at ebay auction. I think it is well worth this price but find it interesting how ebay prices are 'market value'.
Does anyone here specifically collect these "President's Choice" knives ? Or, have any of them that they care to comment on ? The first one a Pearl 3 5/8" Canoe looks like it wants to be my next one !
Also, the link is to a Clarence Risner site. Did he commission the President's Choice knives ?
thanks, kj

I'm back again having just spent the last 2 hours looking at knives on the Clarence Risner site. There are at least 3 i really 'need'. I think he has all of the best Queen knives.

Re: My Finest Queen
Hi QS, i have one of the checkered pearl Queen knives as well but for brilliance i prefer the smooth pearl. Is yours from 1990's ? or are they more recent ?

I should have been more specific on the President's Choice knives. Eight releases, nine knives.

Re: My Finest Queen
Jerry, do you have or have you handled any of the President's Choice knives ?
This pearl muskrat is definitely a step up from a regular Queen or Schatt & Morgan. I wonder if the other years also have this superior materials & workmanship ?

KJ: I picked this up around 2001, so this would have probably come from the 90s.

Nice Muskrat, KJ! Hard to beat a nicely finished Pearl!!
I have my finest Queens (2) freshly scanned, and with your permission, I will post them. If you don't think they are appropriate, I will delete!
Dan Burke collaborations, ca. 2005.

Re: My Finest Queen
Beautiful Queen knives, very appropriate for this thread.
These 2 look like full custom Dan Burke knives. I would think they are the best made knives from Queen, perhaps ever.
I have not seen these Queen-Dan Burke knives before, but am now 'on the hunt' for one. Do you know about how many were made ?

Re: My Finest Queen
Just got off the phone with Queen. They graciously looked up the record on this DB collaboration. Ashley at Queen told me they had 500 pairs of these Gents knives scheduled, and they were made from 2004 to 2006.
Remembering when I was doing SFOs with them, they often did not fill a full schedule, depending on sales, and other conditions. So 500 or less Pearls, and 500 or less Black Lips would be the most accurate guess, Roland.
So they should be out there to find, eventually!!

He is, he has posted here when one of his knives was the center of conversation. I'm thinking olderdogs 1 knows him. I could probably find that thread.

Monte, no need for further ID. I looked at the listing, too expensive for me at this time.

Re: My Finest Queen
I have lusted after one of those since I first saw them, either one but most especially the black pearl. They're small. What? 3" closed? Somewhere very close to that. Like you Roland, I have never been able to afford one. Sigh.

Re: My Finest Queen
Those are four completely beautiful knifes that have been shown here.
QS - that jigging on that doctors knife is so nice that it makes it hard to notice the rest of the knife!
Joe, that President's Choice with the fine etches and fine MOP is really good. That is the first one of those that I have ever seen.
Charlie - that pearl knife is possibly the finest MOP knife handle that I have ever seen. The jigging, or should I say carving, is just enough to demonstrate the makers mastery of the craft and yet leave the full beauty of the natural pearl on display!

Re: My Finest Queen
I too like Queen knives. Jerry, I think I have similar knives with a similar etch. I was told the meaning of that etch is that knife was the 52nd of 296 made. Here are a few of mine. The peanut is part of the master cutler series.

The number 052296 is Queens model number for that pattern.
