I just got this beautiful knife in the mail today.
I want to thank Matt Sanders for letting me get it.

Thanks GSP. You know what they say...you can take the boy out of Arizona but you can't take Arizona out of the boy. ::tu::

It's a very well made knife with half stop and extremely traditional lines. The acid wash on the blade adds character and the burlap micarta scales with the copper bolsters and liners give it an antique look. Now I have the other version on my wanted list. It has canvas micarta scales with brass bolsters and liners with a satin finish blade. They were both listed at SMKW but now I can't even find a photo of the one I don't have!

The acid wash on the blade is great, did you do that, or did you buy it way? I try my own patinas with mustard, vinegar and few other things. Sometimes, it's a winner and sometimes not so much.

The acid wash is the factory finish. Never tried to force/create a patina although I have kicked around the idea of using a gun bluing solution on a knife blade.

Took this shot with my phone as I'm getting ready for a short road trip to visit family in a neighboring town. As I was closing the rear gate on my pygmy Jeep I thought of the photo in your post. My son gave me the spare tire cover and a friend gave me the medallion. People see it but nobody believes them! ::rotflol::
