Boker Barlows Help id

Post by Papas-toybox »

I have these 2 Boker 2-blade Barlows I cannot fully identify. Both have similarhandle material (Quest 1 what is it) but one has 3 pins and the other only has 2. Also one has a spear blade and the other a clip blade as the main blade. The secondary blade on both are pen blades.

Hoping there's a Boker expert or 2 that can help me with fully identifying these.

Thanks,

Bob (Papa)

There's a number on the tang, like 492, 493, etc. that is the model number. Seems like there are three varieties, but can't think of the third one right now.

Boker introduced their synthetic tortoise shell material in 1994. Both of those knives are probably from the mid to late 1990s.
The spear point is pattern #492 and the Clip point is pattern #493. Boker made a sheepsfoot barlow also - #494, and #495 was a razor barlow.

Thank you for the info. It is exactly what I needed. As you can see from the photos, the tangs do not have any numbering on them so I was totally lost.
